SCHOOL IS OUT!!!

YAY!!! School is finally out! I don't think I could be more happy.....except if the wedding were completely planned and I was already married. ;) Kindergarten graduation went great yesterday(aren't they cute?!?.....with only one little kid dancing through the whole entire program (it should be on America's funniest home videos). Today we signed autographs, played at the park, had ice cream and were done. Needless to say it all went smoothly....except for the end, when I was running around the school looking for the infamous Isabella's. Expect those 2 girls to give us our last heartache in the last 5 minutes, on the last day of school!!!
Golden Corral has been slightly redeemed...(since I haven't thrown up yet) and that's where we had our fun but sad luncheon as we lose our principal and some great teachers. I have faith our new principal will be great as well.....but we will see what next year brings. Goodbye all you kindergartners of 2007-2008....I'll see ya next year (unless you see me at summer school)! :(

BREAKING AND ENTERING

Last night I had a very random but hilarious happening. Because Monday was a holiday, we decided to step back into GAME MODE and have a game night! It had been months and was totally worth it! So, we were all up until well after 2 am playing games and catching up. I was so tired, since I'd been up until 3 the night before, that I just wanted to get home. John took me home and we had some games and cupcakes, so he was helping me bring them in.....or so I thought. As I reached to get my keys, John realized he hadn't put them in my bag. After checking every door, I realized I was completely locked out and my roommates did not answer. So....after ten minutes, I found a window on the ground level and broke into my house. I'm pretty sure making John climb down into the window, over the ironing board and onto the desk, and around the junk was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. (John is not a little person like me). So, I'm holding the blinds about to wet my pants when John gets his foot stuck outside, while half of him is in....not as flexible as he wanted to be. Well, I pushed his foot in and we did get in and just in the nick of time.....2 minutes after we got in and went to open the front door.....it started to pour rain! I'm just glad that we didn't get caught, my neighbors are pretty aware of the happenings going on and we were not being quiet. LESSON LEARNED:double check for keys when your fiance gives you your purse and have a hide a key. :)

Field Day??

Today was field day.....well it was supposed to be. For the first time in years, it was rainy on field day. I was actually quite overjoyed. The upper grades still got to play outside and I had the easiest day of the school year ever!! We practiced for graduation, ate lunch in the hall outside our room (so fun!) and then watched "Meet the Robinson's" in the Gym with the 4-6 kids. I cut out laminate and texted my future sis-in-law to be. What an easy day!! And also I realized, that some people are very messed up and I'm glad that with all the things I've experienced over the last 5 years, that I'm about to embark on the best thing of all, marrying John. He's the best thing ever and I'm so lucky to have him!
Te Amo Joaoninho!

DESSERTS

AHHHHHHH!!!! That right there was stress!! So I titled my post as DESSERTS because I've been sneaking some of those lately....because desserts spelled backwards is STRESSED and that I definitely am! I can't believe how much stress I'm currently feeling. I mean, I usually handle it pretty well and I don't have major freak outs, but I'm getting to that point. I hate that school is requiring a thousand million things with grading, my portfolio has to be revamped, my students are basically prisoners now at exit time, my ESL class is starting over again with a 5 hour power session tonight, we have to get everything done to close on the condo and I officially want to cancel my wedding....just so I can avoid the pressure from everyone!! I mean, I'm doing the best I can, but there is only so much I can do in a day!!

AHHHHH, all I can say is I better gain something from this stress. Like yummy treats and then massive amounts of weight loss when I go to strict liquids. On the plus side, I do absolutely love the rainy weather.....except it makes me want to curl up and read.....which I can't do. :( Oh well...life will go on, with lots of chocolate and peanut butter. :)

ADDENDUM
Ok, so I feel I need to make an addendum to this post. When my fiance John commented about it, (although jokingly, I knew others might not see it that way) I read it again and realized how it sounded. It sounded like I didn't want to get married. On the contrary, I very much want to get married to John, I just don't want to have a wedding and stuff involved with that. I think I'd be content to just elope to the temple and have a marriage.....yeah.....I should have really considered that. Maybe I'll encourage my children to do that.

So, to John: I love you and I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else but you. I'm very, very, much excited to marry you and I wish it would happen sooner. And for both of our sakes.....the stress should decrease ten fold, because maybe in the end, it won't all be worth it. I love you John! Meu Amor! Te Amo!

LIFE!!

Do you ever wonder who reads your blog, who sees your pics, who is really out there knowing what you do? I did the other day. I know the people that leave comments probably read my blog, my family (for the most part) and my friends (who wanted the engagement story). I don't know if random strangers happen upon it and that made me wonder. Guess I should make it private....by invite only.

So, for normality, life is really great. School is almost out (2 weeks!!!) and I am completely thrilled at that thought. It was a tough year with the OEK Class, a student teacher, the horror student and planning a wedding. I loved it, but I'm ready for a break! On Saturday, John and I made an offer on a condo and they accepted!! YAY!! So, I'll be moving in June and my brother found someone to rent the house! I saw some old friends from Papa John's and I realized, that was a great time in my life and sometimes I miss it. It's amazing how work or moving to college can create such fond memories with people, especially ones you never thought you'd ever get along with! I was able to spend more time with my fiance and "everyday is the new best day of my life." lol (he'll laugh at that lyrical cheesiness!!) But really, I am excited to get married to John and to be apart of his family and he be apart of mine. This week has helped me learn a lot about my past and a lot about my future!

Life is fantastic and that's about it. Nothing funny this blog....well....not to anyone but me.

School Lunch Anyone?

Today, I forgot my lunch. That was a little bit funny and I don't do it very often. So I figured I'd just hurry and grab school lunch when some of my kids went down. I looked on the menu; Burritos or Subs. Well, since my lunch is usually a burrito (seriously, everyday) I decided to get a sub sandwich. I ran down to the lunchroom and got in line behind one of my girls. I tell the lady my name, grab 2 chocolate milks (they are the best!!! and teachers always get 2) and wait in line. I'm chatting with some other students of mine and I get up to the counter. "I'd like the sandwich today please." The lunch lady says "Sorry, we're out, that was the last one."

"NOOOOOOOO!!!!! " I was crushed!! I ran over to Yadira (my student) and said..".give me your sandwich and you can have this burrito!" Kids always do what there teacher tells them, right? To no avail, I was stuck with the burrito. (and really, I didn't run over to her, I just thought that) But I almost yelled it out. That's ridiculous! I just paid $2.5o for the same thing I eat everyday for like .40 cents. I felt disgusted that I had to eat another burrito (that wasn't good) and there was no ranch for my fresh broccoli. What a sad day?!?! ....2.50 for one .25 cent cookie and two .25 cent milks and a disgusting burrito that I didn't even eat all of. 2.50!?!?! I won't be forgetting my lunch anymore.....but yum....that chocolate milk was good.

Growing Up!

So I was thinking a lot this week. I'm so excited to get married and move to the next stage of my life, but I sure hate growing up more. Now that it's official, it makes all the plans more official! That means finding the perfect place to live, the right wedding dress, the right photographer, changing the insurance, compiling addresses, budgeting for more than myself, going back to school (ie with John), finishing up my classes (more homework and final projects), finding things for the new place we actually get, getting good engagement pictures (we have the worst luck!!) and being even more responsible than I already have been my whole life! BUT YAY, MY RING FITS NOW!!!! I'm to the point, that I don't even feel like I can breathe.....yet here I am blogging....in the 5 minutes I have while my students are cleaning up and getting ready to go home. Yeah....I know I will extremely happy when I can go back to actually seeing my fiance (who'll be my husband by then) and talking about life.....rather than "plans" and "schedules" we have to accomplish. Ah....the joys of becoming a real adult....rather than just an adult who has a real job. Oh geez...life is grand.

IT'S OFFICIAL, I'M TAKEN!!!!! I AM ENGAGED!!!

SO I'M ENGAGED!!! YAY!!!! HERE IS THE FIRST PICTURE RIGHT AFTER HE PROPOSED. (I WAS REALLY SICK THIS WEEKEND, HENCE THE PJ'S & BLANKET). THAT IS THE COUCH WE WANT TO STEAL FROM MY BROTHER THAT INVOLVED MANY PARTS OF OUR RELATIONSHIP. HAHA! GOTTA LOVE IT!!
Here is John later, after he'd already proposed demonstrating what he was going to do. WAA-AAAHHH! I was laughing so hard. I stinking love the ring, it's perfect. His good friend Jon was disappointed in him for not actually doing it when he proposed in the first place. I would have been fine either way. :)
Here is a picture of the ring on my hand, holding John's hand. Yeah....he has a big thumb. It's also very hard to get any good pics of the ring. It's really cool when you look at it from the side in real life. Good Job John! 100% exactly what I wanted.
John loves making silly faces. We're calling some family to tell them we're officially engaged! It was pretty late, so some people didn't get phone calls about it. lol. Also, I specified no flowers or anything like that, so it was super simple. Just like I wanted the ring to be!
The picture below is right after he proposed as well. Remember how I was super sick that weekend. Don't I look it? I was totally in my pajamas and everything, wrapped up in a blanket. It was honestly the greatest part of the story.....which will come later.John telling his one and only brother Scott that we're getting married. John had to tell him first, because when Scott proposed to his wife last fall, John was in the car before hand, so he was the first to know. Just returning the brotherly love. He's stinking adorable!! I love him!!
So, after a very long wait, I'm very excited to be engaged. The wedding is July 2nd and I can't even begin to express how excited I am. I love John and spending a little amount of time with him everyday is not enough, especially with our opposite work schedules. Anyway, now to curb the curiousness of everyone. John and I decided that what is cheesy to some people, may not be cheesy to others, so I'm going to be very limited in my proposal story.
THE PROPOSAL STORY
John came over and sneakily went to the basement to hide the ring. He told me he was trying to find a movie and I was sort of suspicious, because I was positive I'd returned the movie. After about an hour of looking at houses online, we decided it was time to read our scriptures before he went home. It was of course hot in my house, so I suggested we go downstairs (which is what he wanted). Our basement smells, so we have like 10 candles down there and we always light them when we go down, so John lit them and sat on the couch. We started talking and he pulled out his scriptures. We talked for a minute before we were going read and then he stood up to give me a hug (which I though was strange too, since we were both sitting on the couch already and he's super tall). Needless to say, after the hug, he got down on his knee and pulled out the hidden ring from under the pillows. I believe my exact words were "you punk, I knew you were up to something, I can't believe you." He asked, I said of course and the rest is history. I didn't even cry!! I was so proud of myself! We had some Banana Nilla Parfaits to celebrate and went to my parents to hear a story about my grandma's ring and show mine off to my family. Oh and the ring hasn't been sized, so it's really big, which has made for some funny pictures and stories.

Rock, Paper, MOVE?!?

Whatever happened to just regular Rock, Paper Scissors? I was watching my kids after snack the other day, just waiting for the a couple of stragglers, when I noticed them forming partners and groups to play Rock, Paper, Scissors. Who knew that all my 5 year old kids new this game? I have no idea where they learned it, but they sure do have it down. Not only that.....they've invented like 5 different versions! Lava, Fire, Bomb, Spiderman and MOVE?---apparently when you hold both fists up-it's called a move and it blocks everything. It made me laugh so hard watching them play. Ahh....the days of childhood.

On another note, I went to my first Soccer game Saturday night. I had gotten John some Real Salt Lake tickets for his birthday, so we went to the game last night. It was way fun, despite the fact I was pretty sick and pretty grumpy before it started. But sometimes that happens when you're sick, stressed and stuff. Needless to say, I had a blast. I really like Soccer. It's not as long and boring as other sports are. For reals. It was fun to see the LA Galaxy team and to be sitting so close to the field. I saw David Beckham and Landon Donovan play and they are good. Although LA doesn't have a very good defense. So, the game score came out tied. 2-2...but only because RSL let Beckham get 2 shots. Oh well, it was a spectacular game and I had so much fun! I also love spending time with John doing things he enjoys and soccer is definitely a passion of his. So, I'm now a bigger soccer fan than I used to be and I'm ok with that. I really do like it. I've also been watching more of the Jazz games lately.....whether it's because my obsessed brother rants about them all the time or because by the time John gets off work, we're too tired to do anything besides watch the games....I don't know, but I'm excited to watch the Jazz take on the Lakers in Round 2.
