Bridal Shower

Well, to start off, I added some random pics from the Bridal Shower Steph and Bex threw. It was so much fun and I loved it! Stephanie's blog has lots more info and pics, so check it out. You can find her blog on my list of friends. This was the candy bar....so yummy!! Here we have Diana, John's sister trying to pin the fig on Adam. Quite an entertaining game..... and somehow I actually won that one.
We also had partners make wedding dresses out of TP. Word to the wise...if it is 2ply...separate it, you get a lot more out of it!! I also had some coverage on mine, since I'm not married yet, so I have to keep myself clean. lol. My mom's pretty much fell apart. lol. Steph is in a modern maternity dress and Teisha had the pretty veil.
I'm really glad that I have people who aren't afraid to keep it real and throw such a fun and somewhat scandalous shower. I didn't upload gift pics, but those can be found on my facebook, along with all the other pictures people took. Like I said, Steph has some that I don't have, so check her blog for more info. It was really fun to see old friends.

Time flies....

Time really does fly....haven't you ever seen it? You have to try really hard to catch it....but you never do...somehow time always catches you though. Huh.

I wish I had my PC, so I could upload some pics, but alas, no internet at the new home yet and my lappy isn't getting wireless anymore...so the rents will have to do. Yesterday I got to spend some awesome time with my family. I went through the temple and all my siblings got to be there and my parents and John. It was pretty special and I think it was awesome for my mom and dad. We went to dinner at Los Hermanos and let me tell you, they weren't that good last night...or maybe it was just because I was starving and I get cranky when I'm hungry. Anyway...good times. My brothers are pretty funny and I love that John gets along with my family. Sometimes I wonder what it'll actually be like when we're married into each others families, because I tend to be more outspoken when I know people better or when I don't care and I think maybe once we're married....there may come a point when both of us don't care as much as we do now. Sorry to all families involved. ;)

Well...since I didn't catch time while it was flying, I'm amazed at how it is catching me. The wedding is in less than 2 weeks and I still have a few things to do (kinda important things). And sadly, I'm so tired and ready to have the wedding done with, it doesn't make me very motivated to get those few things done. Oh well....some people may just hate me...for simply being me at my own wedding....shocker there. :)

Eyelashes

Surprising how much I'm blogging during the summer. More than I thought I would, but being sick has made me pretty much a recluse. Funny thing happened this morning, something that hadn't happen since freshman year of college. I was kind of in a hurry to get to my parents, cause I have no hot water and John was going to be done with his final soon. I was putting on some mascara and I realized, my lashes looked funky, so I pulled out my eyelash curler. When you're not paying attention or tired, this can be a fiasco!! And this morning, I wasn't. I'm not used to my new bathroom setup yet and my arm was resting on a wall outlet (a big fat box kind). Next thing I know my hand is in the sink and my left eye is watering itself alot, sending streams of fresh black paint down my face. "OWWWW!!!!" There on the curler was about half of my eyelashes. Smooth move. Now my eyes look really funky. :) Let's just hope they grow back fast before the wedding

The end!

Guys have it Easy!

So with 2.5 weeks to the wedding, we thought we should get John's tux, our ties and finish with the skirts for the ladies and my nieces. So, John having never gotten a tux, we went to a store in the mall. We were just looking and guess what....in 10 mins, he'd picked it out, got measured, tried on the jacket, put down a 20$ deposit and we were done. HOW?!?!? So not fair. I looked at dresses at 5 places before I found something that fit perfectly everywhere and in length, that wasn't hideous to me and and I had to pay a 100 dollar deposit. Jeez!
We did get some awesome ties, so super cute dresses for my nieces and 2 adorable onesies for my nephew to be born this week! We got to design the ties to be embroidered on them and they are going to rock! So, pretty much we're done with everything and that is nice. All my stuff is moved to my condo (although it's all in boxes) and my family arrived in town yesterday from Uruguay. They met John and I think they like him, how could they not? He's pretty funny and easy going and well, my family trusts my judgement. And my nieces love that he's tall. The first thing Emma asked me was "Where's John?" 2 years and she'd rather see John than me. :) lol

Guys have it so easy.....so I'm glad that I at least get to marry one that is easy going. :)

Moving On

I hate moving. With a strong passion, I detest packing, moving stuff, cleaning stuff up and then unpacking it again and trying to figure out where to put it. Ya know what makes it worse? I don't have all the organizational stuff yet. We don't really know what we're going to get for our wedding, so we don't want to buy anything yet, so I get to live with some boxes for the next 2.5 weeks in our new condo. I wish I could be moving straight in with John, then it would seem more like our place. Well, I should be packing some more....so I'm off to spend my last night in the Campbell house packing stuff up and cleaning......all the while exhausted from the past four days of driving to Eagle Mountain for summer school. :( 50 mins is not worth the drive!!!

Driver's License Please

When you get a letter in the mail in April telling you to renew your drivers license by your birthday, do it!! Even if you're getting married in a month from your birthday and have to change your name, DO IT!!

Today after other mishaps, we finally went to close on our condo. We were like pros, John and I signing our names at the same time like there was nothing to it. After about 50 papers (no joke!!) we were done!! Lisa our Escrow Officer says "OK, I just need a current license and another form of ID." (Do you see where this is going?) We pull out our stuff and I then remember......"uh, my drivers licence expired 2 days ago on my birthday." I think Lisa and Wyatt's face both dropped (who would actually drive without a current license?) John couldn't stop laughing. Had they informed me we had to have it....I would have done it!! Turns out that without a current expiration, they couldn't get everything in. So, we first drive down to the UCCU to get money wired, I'm positive that when she asked to see my license, John about wet himself. He's going to have fun with this one. Next to the DLB (where luckily my friend Shelly works, so it was a little bit faster) and an HOUR or more later, I had a temporary 6 months license, which I then take back to AF. It was quite the eventful day, but we did get it done and we did close on our condo.
All I can say is "someday we'll laugh at this" and oh, when people tell you to just wait a month to get something renewed cause you're getting married...don't listen....cause you never know when you'll actually need it!!

LATE NIGHT TRASH SOCCER

Last night I had a new adventure, trash soccer. Last weekend my 3 roommates moved out, leaving an enormous amount of trash to be thrown out. When I came home last night to put out the garbage, there were 2 bean bags and 7 bags of trash on the ground amongst the already overflowing bin!!! This is where the genius idea came in.........ECONOMIZING TRASH....using the neighborhood trash cans.
So, I made a game out of it, see how much we could fit into each neighbors bin. John was kicking the bean bags like soccer balls and I was running around trying to steal them. We're pretty lame and I'm sure the neighbors heard us, but it was fun. Unfortunately I could only get 2 in one neighbors can, 1 more in mine, but I successfully ran down the street and put 3 in one can! As I was on the move to get another bag, John was still trying to kick the bean bag high enough to make it into the trash can. It took him several tries. I was definitely winning...John was too busy with the bean bag!! Last time...I grabbed the biggest black trash bag and went....watching John try to kick the other bean bag. Needless to say, my well planned out method got all the trash into trash cans and within a timely manner. (John is still kicking the bag). We had to go to another trash can for this and John....being such a great player....kicked the bean bag and knocked over the garbage can...........well, maybe just half, but it was loud and the bean bag got stuck on the lid.

So, if you ever get bored...try trash soccer...just make sure your neighbors are asleep...I think the family on the corner was watching us shove stuff in and I almost felt like I was getting caught!! Good thing I was laughing to hard at John to care. GOOD TIMES WITH TRASH!!!
